DIY holiday body scrub for the win

It is feeling more and more like Christmas over here in Berlin!

Our Christmas tree is up after a fun filled weekend spent picking the most perfect tree, decorating and really feeling the holidays are here.

We have made it to a few Christmas markets.

And now just planning the couple of few weeks now that Sloane is officially on her school break. The goal is excitement with a side of gratitude and slow living for our Christmas and New Years celebrations shared with our hockey family over here.

This past week I put together some little gifts for Sloane’s teachers. A little pamper pack for her amazing teachers who truly deserve their holiday break. Perhaps I should have included some wine …

But here is a little peek at what we gifted. Some tea and a DIY Body Scrub and not pictured, a special card with lots of gratitude as well as the recipe incase they want to make it themselves.

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1/3 cup coconut oil OR olive oil OR almond oil

  • 1 TBSP almond oil

  • 10 drops of your essential oils of choice {5 peppermint + 5 Grapefruit}

  • Optional: ½ TSP Vitamin E oil

Add all ingredients to a small bowl and combine. Add to glass mason jar. Will store in dark/cool place for up to 2 months. I prefer the mixture to be just a little wet with not too much extra oil.

My favourite pre-bath routine is to take 5 minutes to do some dry brushing as a way to exfoliate, improve blood flow and circulation and promote a healthy and balanced body. Then standing in the bathtub follow this up with your body scrub and take a couple of minutes to lovingly massage this in small circular motions all over your body!

You know I love my Young Living essential oils. For more info on them and how to incorporate the oils into your everyday check this out.

Some other great DIY ideas to gift to your favourite people would be a luxurious body butter {Frankincense, Geranium and Lavender are my fav's} and bath salts {Peace & Calming, Lavender, Cedarwood and Joy are excellent!}  So easy and when made with love I think they make a very thoughtful and one of a kind gift.

Cheers to a Merry weekend ahead!
