be here, now

Life can change in an instant.

I am sure you have experienced the ups and downs of this crazy thing we call life.

LIFE is ever changing and sometimes quite frankly it feels like a roller coaster.

There are times when the adrenaline is high as you race around the track feeling the wind in your hair and laughing so hard your face hurts. Then there are other times when you are doing everything in your power to hold on, with your last bit of strength, before barrelling to the bottom of a drop...where you can't see where you are going.

I know in my own life there have been times when I felt like I had no control over a situation that left me feeling almost paralyzed. In those moments if felt like I was passing through each day living for something better that was to come. But what is better? And is that really LIVING? Consider all of the simple blessings of each day that can be missed when you live this way. The wonder of a beautiful sunny summer day at the beach, waking up next to the person you love, a big bear hug from your child, laughing with a good friend.....

When you pass through each day without taking the time to slow down and be present, you are bound to miss the magical moments that life presents us each and every day.

Wherever you may feel like you are today, I want to encourage you to more consciously try to LIVE IN THE MOMENT.

There is no guarantee that tomorrow will be better, but if you are granted the chance to live one more day - BE GRATEFUL for all of the goodness that you have in your life.

I admit, some days are harder than others to come up with reasons to be happy.

When things aren't going so well, instead of projecting more negativity on the issue, acknowledge what is going on and consider your options. How did you get there? How can you turn it around and make the most of the situation?

While we may not be able to control everything that happens in life, what I have come to learn, is that we can control how we REACT to each situation. The good. The bad and the ugly.

I would highly recommend you picking up "The Power of NOW" by Eckhart Tolle. It brought much perspective to my life several years ago.

So for today friends, I want you to live in the moment, don't dwell on yesterday or live for tomorrow.

LIVE for right now. Carpe diem as they like to say.

“Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.”  ~ Steve Maraboli
